Robert Andrew Schaefer

Robert Andrew Schaefer, age 68, of Toledo, Ohio died on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born on June 6, 1946 in Alton, Illinois to Earl and Opal (Hacker) Schaefer. Bob was a graduate of Bowsher High School and receive a Masters in Education from the University of Illinois. He taught History and Social Studies at Robinson Junior High; Macomber and Waite High Schools. After retirement, Bob owned and managed a local theater and spent many years as a camp counselor for The Boys & Girls Club at Camp Big Silver. He was an avid collector of antiques and historical memorabilia. Bob is survived by his brother, Fred (Claire) Schaefer; sister, Carol Andrews; caring friend, Chris Champion; beloved dogs, Clara and Molly and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive guests at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Services will be private.
