Robert "Rob" J. Russell

Robert “Rob” J. Russell, 53, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, Wednesday, June 7, 2023. He was born September 29, 1969, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Delbert D. and Rosemary (Kaminski) Russell.

Rob attended the school of hard knocks as a child, along with his brothers and sister, but strove to be an amazing father to his sons. Never missing a recital or sporting event, he worked to provide every opportunity for his children to become successful, well-rounded men. Early on, he showed a strong interest and skill at mechanics. As a child, he would help his father soup up cars, which fueled his lifelong need for speed. Rob became adept at many other skills such as construction, fabrication, electrical, dry wall; he never wanted to pay somebody else to do something that he was able to do himself. Rob worked as a mechanic for several companies until hired by Bohl Equipment over twenty years ago. He was dedicated to providing the best service and workmanship he could.

Rob passed along his analytical skills and attention to detail to his sons: Robert who is also a mechanic, and Cody who is a nurse. He loved to spend quality time fishing with his boys, a pastime which grew into a passion. Rob was a great father figure to many of his children’s friends.

Rob met the love of his life, Mindy, in 2013 through his best friend. They were married four years later and spent six wonderful years together. They traveled, camping mostly. Many weekends were spent around a campfire and sleeping in a pop-up camper.

Rob was an amazing father and husband, a fierce and loyal friend. He never wanted to let anyone down and was always helping the people he loved. He will be missed by many.

Rob is survived by his wife, Mindy, sons, Robert B. Russell and Cody J. (Rian) Russell, step-sons, Xavier J. Beach and Samuel D. Beach, mother, Rosemary Radzimoski, and siblings, Anthony (Marie) Russell, Brenda (Riley) Franklin, Rick Russell and Rayanne (Donald) Staler. He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Russell.

A visitation for Rob is scheduled for Friday, June 16, 2023, from 2:00-7:00 PM at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio. The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the Auto Technologies Program of Penta Career Center, 9301 Buck Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
