Robert C. Ruff

Robert C. Ruff, 69, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026, at Edward and Marion Knight Hospice Center in Perrysburg, OH surrounded by his family. He was born December 19, 1956, in Munich, Germany, to Richard and Norma Ruff (Bunn).

Bob received his Medical Technology degree from Michigan State University. He became a Medical Technologist at St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo where he met his current wife, Cynthia Vendemo. They married in 1983. In March of 1989, Bob began working at Mass Mutual/Skylight Financial as an Investment Advisor Rep until his passing.

Bob was involved in Scouting America for 25+ years as Troop 88 Scoutmaster and Northwest District Advancement Chair. Bob was also a member of the Reynolds Corners Rotary Club. Bob was an avid cyclist, loved snow and water skiing, enjoyed reading and watching golf and football. Bob had a lifelong passion for cars and owned several classic cars throughout the years. Bob's compassion and kindness led to his willingness to help others. Combined with his innate ability to learn from his personal encounters as well as the countless educational seminars he attended, he had a wealth of knowledge to contribute to everyone he met. When problems came up, he shared his opinion or advice in a gentle, relatable way, many times in the form of a story. He guided the listener to the correct solution by offering other perspectives of the issue that were not originally obvious to the person. Bob's help was in educating others in the art of making good decisions, and he was a master of it.

He is survived by his wife Cindi (Vendemo) Ruff; children, Benjamin R. Ruff, Bethany M. (Kyle) Bode; brothers, Ronald (Hewook) Ruff, Michael (Christine) Ruff; grandchildren Charlotte and Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Benjamin T. Ruff.

Family and friends may visit Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 12 noon-6pm with service to follow at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH 43623.
