Robert "Rob" Paul Walker, Sr.

October 15, 1961 — February 8, 2025

Robert Paul “Rob” Walker, Sr., 63, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away unexpectedly early Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the Toledo Hospital in Toledo, OH. He was born on October 15, 1961 in Fremont, OH to Robert Charles and Norma Rose (Wolf) Walker. Rob graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in Fremont and Vanguard Vocational School in 1980. On April 3, 1981 in Fremont, OH he married Melissa A. “Missy” Baker, and she survives. Rob worked most recently at the Oak Harbor Golf Course and Tri-Motor Sales in Oak Harbor. He really enjoyed taking care of the greens at the golf club and getting to drive all the new cars at the car dealership. Rob was also affectionately known as “Grampy” and “Big Bob”.

Rob and Missy enjoyed hanging out with friends, eating at their favorite restaurants, relaxing in their backyard, listening to music and most recently E-biking around Northwest Ohio. They frequently golfed together at Oak Harbor Golf Club. Rob was an avid golfer and participated in several local pool leagues. His competitive streak fueled his hobbies. He frequently played PlayStation matches with Rob Jr. and their friends, and he played to win. In his younger days he played softball daily. He was a big fan of the Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Pistons, and the Michigan Wolverines. Rob coached soccer previously at Oak Harbor High School for the boys varsity team. Most recently, he enjoyed watching his granddaughter play soccer. He said every Sunday spent on the golf course with his son, friends, and family was like Father’s Day.

Rob’s quick-witted nature and ability to put a positive spin on every situation made him a pleasure to be around. Whether he was chatting with friends at the golf course, bantering with his servers or hosting friends and relatives, his big personality made everyone feel welcome, happy and valued. Rob was like a dad to many of Rob, Jr.’s friends.

In addition to his loving wife of over 43 years, Missy, Rob is survived by his son, Robert P. (Heather) Walker, Jr., granddaughter, Olive Walker, brother, Greg Walker, brothers-in-law, Gene (Laurie) Baker and John Baker-Fryman, step-brother, Bob (Tammy) Ward, Jr., step-sister, Shari (Ron) Snyder, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Scott Walker.
