Robert Corley Rausch

June 4, 1969 — March 6, 2021

On Saturday, March 6, 2021, Robert Corley Rausch was tragically struck and killed while cycling outside of Toledo, Ohio. Left behind are his amazing wife Lindsay, and their three wonderful children, Wren, Lucy and Lyla. He also leaves four siblings, Michael, Lisa, Jena and Jeff, their spouses, Maddie, Kevin, and Joe, his nieces and nephews and their spouses, Johnathon, Chelsea, Tim, Phyllis, Sara, Maggie, Ben, Alexandra, Atticus, and a large, tight-knit extended family full of people who loved him dearly. Rob had a wicked sense of humor, playful energy, a gigantic heart, and a brilliant mind. He was handsome, generous, and quick to point out when you were messing up the crossword. He worked for Cracker Barrel for 16 years, and was one of their key General Managers. He considered his co-workers and crew his family and they thought he was ‘the best boss ever’. He was an avid cyclist and an active member of the Toledo Area Bicyclists club. Rob showed his love for others through his passion for food, cooking and sharing his encyclopedic knowledge of music. Knowing him was a gift and he will be missed by his friends, fellow cyclists, co-workers, and family for whom life and shared meals, will never be the same. A memorial service to honor Rob’s life will be held at the Maumee Rotary Centennial Pavilion at Side Cut Metropark Thursday, March 18th at 4:30pm, masks required. A memorial service will also be held in the Northern Virginia area at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Robert’s honor to the Northwestern Ohio Rails-to-Trails Association or to the League of American Bicyclists.
