Robert Franklin Pomeroy

Robert Franklin Pomeroy, age 81, passed away on September 6, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Swanton, Ohio on August 24, 1937 and was the first-born of 5 siblings. Upon his graduation from Maumee High School, Robert enlisted in the Navy and served honorably as an aviation mechanic aboard an aircraft carrier USS Yorktown. After his discharge he married and started his career with Columbia Gas of Ohio. He enjoyed his retirement and filled his time with shortwave radio, and followed politics with vigor. More recently he enjoyed spending time with his friends and his dog, Gizmo. Robert is survived by his children, Julie Pomeroy Munson and Robert (Jackie) Pomeroy; grandchildren Caleb, Madison, and Mia; siblings Gary and James (Linda). He was preceded in death by his second wife, Barbara, parents Robert Randall and Ruby; siblings Elizabeth and Susan. Friends and family will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 11:00 AM until the time of services at 12 Noon.
