Robert A. Perry

Robert A. Perry, age 82, of Maumee, died March 22, 2018 at The Toledo Hospital. He was born September 23, 1935 in Toledo to Earl and Lucille (Siek) Perry. Bob met Doretta Jean Mickle at the wedding of a friend and they were married 11 months later on November 26, 1955, sharing 62 wonderful years together. A graduate of Woodward High School, Bob was a plastics engineer at Owens Illinois for 27 years, retiring in 2003. In his free time, he enjoyed movies, travel, watching football, basketball and baseball games, attending family gatherings (especially Christmas celebrations) and having his favorite desserts. Bob found his greatest joy in the love of his family. He cherished being a dad and was very proud to watch his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and become successful in life. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife, Doretta; children, Cynthia Coe (Roger), Tracy Screptock (David) and Andrea DeCavitch (Scott); 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; brother, Richard Perry (Joan); sister-in-law, Jean Perry; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; son, Douglas; and brother, Jack. Family and friends are invited to visit from 2-8 p.m. Sunday in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 26, 2018.
