Robert A. Papenfuss

Robert A. Papenfuss, 88, of Maumee, Ohio passed away October 12, 2013. He was born to Walter and Lynn Papenfuss on November 30, 1924 in Berkey, Ohio. Bob was a WWII Navy veteran, his stationed ship fought in the battle of Normandy. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Maumee Elks. Bob proudly took part in the Honor Flight of June 2013. He was a past chaplain of the Zenobia Shrine and a past master of Barton Smith Lodge 613. Bob enjoyed participating in the Vidalia Onion Sale, and was Zobie the Bear with the Shrine Circus. He was also a charter member of Sigma Phi Epsilon at the University of Toledo, and the Toledo Concrete Improvement Association. Bob also volunteered at MCO, with Mobile Meals, and at his church as an usher. He loved sports, and enjoyed watching his son and grandchildren play. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Frederick Alice, and a sister, Mary Ann Jerry Lee. He is survived by his loving wife, Jane, and his son, Larry Lisa. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brent and Allison, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. Monday, October 14, 2013 from 2-8 pm with a Masonic Service at 7 pm. Funeral services will take place at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 15, 2013. Interment will follow at Wolfinger Cemetery. The family suggests donations in Bobs memory be given to the Shriners Hospital for Children, c/o Zenobia Shrine 8048 Broadstone Rd, Perrysburg 43551.
