Robert J. Nusbaum

Robert J. Nusbaum, age 75, of Toledo and formerly of Ney passed away Monday, December 12, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was a life long farmer and for 30 years worked as a Machine Chief for John-Manville Fiber Glass. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Toledo, a former member of Marysdale Immaculate Conception of Defiance County. He served as Post Commander of the Ney American Legion, President of Manville Retirees, and associate member of the Young Farmers of Defiance County. He was the 1936 New Years Baby. Born January 1, 1936 at Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of Robert A. Mary Alice OBrien of Temperance, Michigan. He married Julia S. Mohre on June 13, 1964. Mr. Nusbaum is survived by his sons Chris Patty Jackson Nusbaum of Bowling Green, Greg Annette Opfermann Nusbaum of Toledo, Mark Lisa Rupp Nusbaum of Ney, Ohio and daughters Teresa Brad Schrauf of Westport, New York and Dr. Anna Nusbaum of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, son-in-law, Ramazan Tas and 11 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. Also surviving are 5 brothers and 2 sisters. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia and daughter, Julie Tas. Family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 17 from 9:00 -11:00 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church 3011 Carskaddon Toledo, OH 43606 followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 AM.
