Robert E. Moody, Jr., age 36, of Toledo, peacefully slipped away on June 27, 2016 with his loving wife at his side. Rob was born November 20, 1979 in Petersburg, Va. A 1997 graduate of Colonial Heights (Va.) High School, he earned a bachelors degree in business from Averett University and worked as a Food Sales Representative for U.S. Foods. Rob was a laid-back and honest soul. To know him, was to truly love him. He felt most comfortable near the water or around a campfire, always wanting a good conversation to take over. His fondest memories were of the simplest things; morning coffee on the porch, a walk at Wildwood, a trip to the zoo, casting a line, or taking a car ride with the music on and the windows rolled down. He enjoyed camping and being in nature, calmly appreciating and taking in small wonders. Music was a large piece of who he was, and he had an extensive library to choose from. He effortlessly strummed the guitar and with ease carried out his own tune. Among family and friends, he was known for being a house chef carrying out delicious dishes that had everyone looking forward to his meals. Rob had a creative mind and was a big dreamer, bringing smiles and comfort to those closest. He felt comfortable talking about his faith and enjoyed listening to others talking of their own convictions. These were the things that he cherished, but above all, he was a good, good father. He adored both his wife and daughter and loved them deeply and fought bravely and unceasingly until he no longer had a choice. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 7 years, Emily; daughter, Hope Lynn; mother, Pat (Ray) Fleischer; father, Robert (Terry) Moody, Sr.; sister, Christina (Clark) Simpson; step brothers, Chris and Sean (Shannon) Fleischer; grandfather, C.L. Dale; nieces and nephews, Savannah, Annabelle, Isaac, Caroline and Everett; his wifes parents, David and Karen Zolg; and brothers-in-law, Nathan (Natalie) Zolg and Keith (Angie) McRitchie. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Friday in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2016. Burial will follow at Amboy Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Pants Off Racing (pantsoffracing.com) or The Victory Center (thevictorycenter.org).
