Robert Paul Mathes

Robert Paul Mathes, 70, of Toledo, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at his home. He was born May 31, 1941 in Greenville, TN to the late Luther and Willie Scott Mathes. Paul worked in the automotive sales industry for many years including 8 years with Brown Pontiac as the used car manager. He was an avid golfer and fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also enjoyed working in his flower garden and visiting his family in Tennessee. Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Judy Benton Mathes; son, Jeff Mathes; his beloved adopted granddaughters, Madison and McKenzie; brother, Buck Mathes Betty; sister, Zuella Miller; and dear friend, Ron Dyer. He was also preceded in death by a son, John; and sisters, Lochiel Mason, Reba Esko and Thelma Dickerson. Visitation will be Friday, April 20, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd., Toledo, concluded with a prayer service at 8:45 p.m. Private burial will take place at Knollcrest Gardens, near Findlay.
