Robert Vaughn Martz

Robert Vaughn Martz, aged 86 of Toledo passed away peacefully at Lake Park Comfort Care on June 20, 2008. He was born January 2, 1922 in Portland, Indiana to Ira and Letha Faris Martz. Robert married his wife Ruby in Ft. Wayne, Indiana in 1947. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific in WWII and was a retiree of Insurance Services Office. Robert was a dedicated and involved 60 year member of Fairgreen Presbyterian Church in Toledo. He coached many of the churchs and YMCA basketball and softball teams for many years as well as his sons and grandsons baseball teams. Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ruby E. Healey; brothers: Ira, Ray, and Lee. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Martz; sons: Robert, Gary Liz, and Philip Laurie; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and his sister, Dorothy Healey. Friends may visit the family on Monday, June 23, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd.. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 24 at 11 AM at Fairgreen Presbyterian Church, 3220 W. Laskey Rd. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
