Robert E. Lorensen

Robert E. Lorensen, 89, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton.  Bob was born on March 02, 1930 in Port Clinton, OH, the son of Edward L. and Isabelle (Ohlinger) Lorensen.  On December 11, 1953 at St. John Lutheran Church, he married Kathryn I. (Kocsis) and she preceded him in death on June 14, 2012.  Bob worked as a plumber for Ohler & Holzhauer and Local 50 Union for over 40 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.  He loved sports, golfing, bowling and baseball.  Bob was a member of the Toledo City League for more than 17 years, the Toledo Times Classic for 10 years, the Buckeye Beer Team for 4 years, the Coca-Cola Team for 5 years and the Hawkins Realty Team for 1 year.  He was elected into the Toledo Bowling Association Hall of Fame in April 1985.  He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Sons: Bob (Kris) Lorensen, Robin Lorensen, both of Port Clinton and Randi Lorensen of Oak Harbor; Grandchildren: Marc, Jessica and Rachel; Sister: Betty (Bill) Belshaw of Carmel, Indiana.  Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter: Patti Kretz; sister: Marian Brunow; and companion: Norma Smetzer. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am, Friday, November 22, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church, 207 Adams Street, Port Clinton, OH, with Reverend Dr. James Lehman officiating.  Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions in memory of Bob be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
