Robert S. Konwinski, 87, died April 13, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. A lifelong resident of Toledo, Bob was born Sept. 27, 1929 to the late Frank and Stella (Horoszewski) Konwinski. He served in the United States Army from May 1947 to Oct. 1948 and then worked for 43 years at Textileather, retiring in 1995. Bob was a longtime member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, slot machines, walking his dog and he was an avid fan of NASCAR. Bob could often be found puttering around with cars and was affectionately known as Mr. Goodwrenchski. He and his wife also enjoyed polka dancing and were Marv Herzog Blue Jackets. He found his greatest enjoyment in time spent with family, friends and especially his granddaughter. Bob will be lovingly remembered for his terrific sense of humor and his willingness to always lend a hand when needed. Surviving are his children, Michael R. Konwinski (Mary-Ellen Toth) and Peggy A. Krueger (Terry Slaughterbeck); granddaughter, Tiffany M. Krueger; sister, Theresa Elekonich; brother, Frank Konwinski (Dorothy); nieces and nephews. The family would also like to thank Carl Kowalski for his longtime friendship and support as well as the Monday Night Group for their friendship. Bob was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Janet; and sister, Evelyn Lee. Visitation will be Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Services will begin with prayers in the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Thursday and proceed to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd., for funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
