Robert J. Kester

Robert J. Kester, age 87 of Oregon, OH passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 25, 2021. He was born on December 9, 1933 in Buffalo, New York to Casper and Margaret (Trost) Kester. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Plaskow Chemical Company for 30 years. He enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills. Bob was a hard worker and was always available to step in and help others. He built his own home and was a master at repairs. Bob enjoyed gambling, playing cards, bowling and eating steak and pasta on Sundays. He was a comforting, caring husband and father who will be forever missed. Surviving is his loving wife of 65 years, Rosina (DiPillo) Kester; son, James Kester; daughters, Deb Lewis and Linda Kester; brothers, Alvin and Patrick Kester. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Ronald Kester. Friends will be received on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home – Oregon Chapel, 3500 Navarre Avenue, Oregon, OH 43616 (419-691-6768). A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Road, Oregon, OH 43616. Burial will follow in St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery.
