Robert D. Keiser

Robert D. Keiser, of Toledo, Ohio, died Monday, November 10, 2014, at the Parkcliffe Community. Bob was born on March 13, 1926, to Clarence and Alyce Keiser.  Upon completion of high school at Ottawa Hills in 1944, he served two years in the Army Air Corps.  Bob attended the University of Michigan, where he was a member of the Chi Psi fraternity, and graduated in 1950 with a degree in mechanical engineering. Bob started his career at Owens-Corning before joining Owens-Illinois where he held various positions over a seventeen year period.  In 1970, he earned his Professional Engineering License and shortly thereafter embarked on a new venture as an independent manufacturer’s representative in the automotive industry.  Enjoying the challenges and camaraderie of the business, Bob continued working into his eighties. An avid paddle tennis player and golfer, Bob played a great game of golf well into later years and especially enjoyed his rounds at Radrick Farms in Ann Arbor. Surviving Bob are his wife of 61 years, Frances; his children, Susan (David) Jamieson and Betsy (Mike) Roarty; his grandchildren, David Robert, Daniel (Kate), Sarah (Jon), Michael, Julia (Chris), Katherine and Emily; and his sister, Dana Seatvet of Denton, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter Kathryn. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, November 14, at 2:30 pm at Epworth United Methodist Church, 4855 W. Central Avenue, Toledo, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 3000 East River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551, or an organization of the donor’s choice.
