Robert R. Keech, 80, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Friday, February 19, 2016, at Heartland of Oregon, Oregon, Ohio. He was born on March 13, 1935, in Otsego, Michigan, to Sam and Margaret (Rex) Keech. On July 3, 1952, he married Betty Ann Edwards, and she preceded him in death on June 6, 2014. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran, who served during the Korean War. He worked as a millwright for the Plainwell Paper Mill in Plainwell, Michigan. Robert loved to fish and hunt. He fished from Florida all the way to Canada, where he had a cottage for the family to visit. His boat was named Buffy II, which earned him the nickname Buffy. Robert especially loved to spend time with his grandkids and great grandkids. Robert is survived by his daughters, Linda (Tom) Ritz, Julie Walls, and Cindy (Philip) Simpson, sons, Steve and David Keech, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, brothers, Harold, Tink, Jerry, and Albert Keech, and sister, Eunice Oisten. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Alvin Keech, sisters, Loraine Hemline and Bernice Keech, and son-in-law, Charles Walls. Cremation has taken place under the direct care of the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Oak Harbor. A memorial luncheon will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, from 1-4 p.m. at Magee East, 10655 W. SR 2, Oak Harbor, OH 43449. Memorial contributions for Robert may be given in care of the family.
