Robert Lee Keaton, 86, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away nine days shy of his 87th birthday, Tuesday, June 2, 2026, after a short illness and a long battle with diabetes. Bob was born June 11, 1939, in Lucasville, Ohio, the oldest son of Earl and Dixie (Walker) Keaton. He married Colleen Morrissey and enjoyed over 62 years of marriage and raised six children. Robert retired from Dana Corporation and was blessed with many years of retirement. In his younger years, Bob enjoyed playing sports with his brothers and friends; backyard football, basketball, softball and bowling. Bowling into his later years with family was painful, but they persevered for many seasons, before an old softball knee injury forced him out of the sport. Injuries he sustained earlier in life kept him from playing but did not keep him away from the alleys, baseball, or soccer fields, where he enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
His later years were spent counting down the days to the next holiday just so he could be surrounded by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. These days provided him such happiness and smiles for weeks after, as he bragged about each child.
As we walk around your house, dad, our hearts break waiting for you to walk into the room. Your favorite recliner is empty. Robert, Buster, Dad, or Papa or whatever you were called, you will be greatly missed by us all.
Bob is survived by his children, Kimberly (Jeff) Snider, Robert (Kathy) Keaton II, Rhonda (Calvin) Mull, Mike (Pamela) Keaton. The first four children were known as the "Fab Four". They also had two little children, Greg (Kristin) Keaton, and Rachael (Mike) Kaylor; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Bob's family wishes to extend a special than you to the nursing staff at Mercy St. Charles Hospital who made a positive impression with our dad. Your compassion and care was greatly appreciated. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, beginning at 11 a.m. at Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice. Robinson Walker Funeral Home, Genoa is assisting the family with arrangements.
