Robert Grady Joyner

Robert Grady Joyner, age 85, passed away March 28, 2020 at Sunset Village in Sylvania. He was born March 4, 1935 in Toledo to the late Henry Grady and Mary C. (Doss) Joyner. Bob graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1953. He received his degree in engineering and spent a 45-plus year career at the Dana Corporation. He retired as a Senior Engineer/Designer, assisted with training and did consulting work with Dana following his retirement. Bob and his wife, Lois, were longtime members of Trilby United Methodist Church where they sang in the choir and were active with the Feed Your Neighbor Program.  In his free time, Bob was a train enthusiast. He had an extensive collection of model trains and worked hard to help get Amtrak back to Toledo. He also enjoyed travel, especially to his favorite destination, New Orleans, LA. Bob is lovingly survived by his children, Mary Ann Hoy (Daniel), James Robert Joyner (Diane), and Edward Charles Joyner (Dawn); grandchildren, Bentley, Christian, Meira, Austin, Christina, Andy and Amanda; 5 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and dear friends. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lois Joyner; and a grandson, Sean Thomas Whelan. Due to the current restrictions surrounding the worldwide pandemic, Bob will be privately laid to rest at Toledo Memorial Park. Public services will be announced at a later date.
