Robert Hundsrucker

Robert Eugene “Bob” Hundsrucker, fondly known to many as “Hundsy” age 84, of Millbury died Monday, March 28, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was born in Toledo on November 22, 1931 to Frank Xavier and Mabel (Pennock) Hundsrucker. A Veteran of the Korean War, Bob was married to Marcie C. Schmaedecke in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky on October 6, 1956. He was employed by Libbey-Owens-Ford for 32 years, retiring in 1982. Bob was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and loved to organize events. He helped establish Millbury’s first girls’ softball league in the 1970’s, and he helped organize his grade school reunions known as the Darby Reunion. Bob was also instrumental in forming Ageless Wonders Senior Group and he volunteered his time to Meals on Wheels, Helping Hands of St. Louis and the Cherry Street Mission. He enjoyed bowling, cribbage, euchre, gardening and golfing. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marcie; children, Lisa (Terry McGlothlin) Hundsrucker, Paula (Mark) Baker and Sally (Mark) Selmek; grandchildren, Aaron and Leah Selmek; brothers, Gerald (Helen) Hundsrucker and James (Jeanine) Hundsrucker; sisters, Jeanette (Patrick) Gaynor and Joyce (Gus) Strom as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mabel as well as his son-in-law, Gerald Lynch. Friends will be received on Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner Street, Walbridge, Ohio where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bob’s memory to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Helping Hands of St. Louis or to the Cherry Street Mission.
