Robert J. Homan

Robert J. Homan, age 74, passed away peacefully at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born on July 20, 1941 in Napoleon, Ohio to Clarence and Berniece Homan. In 1959, he graduated from Liberty Center High School and went on to attend Fort Wayne Business College and the University of Toledo. From 1966 until his retirement in 2011, Robert served as a cost accountant for LOF. Robert loved sports, his favorite teams being the Detroit Tigers and the University of Michigan; and also enjoyed playing golf, basketball, and tennis. He had a love for the outdoors, spending time fishing and boating on Lake Erie and Devils Lake, gardening, and traveling. Above all, Robert loved his family and spoiling his four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Robert is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Rita; children, Julie (Brett) Seymour, and Robert G. (Danielle) Homan; brother, Jim (Bev) Homan; grandchildren, Emily, Addison, Tyler, and Brianna; as well as, nieces and nephews, Kevin, Laurie, and Michael (and their families). Family and friends may visit the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, Ohio (west of Corey Rd., ), on Sunday, February 14, from 1-5PM. On Monday, February 15, visitation will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 4441 Monroe St., Toledo, Ohio at 10AM, with funeral service to follow at 11AM. Interment will follow at Whiteford Cemetery.
