Robert R Harris

Robert R. Harris, age 83 of Toledo passed away April 3, 2018 at Genesis Swanton Valley Care Center. He was born May 14, 1934 in Toledo to Bert and Maria (Horako) Harris. A veteran of the US Army Bob was employed at GM Powertrain for 38.9 years as a special machine operator retiring in 1998. After retiring he worked part-time in maintenance at the Lucas County Board of Education. An avid shuffleboard player, he also enjoyed playing euchre and cooking. He was an Ohio State and Pittsburgh Steeler football fan, Tigers baseball and Duke basketball fan. Bob was a member of the Holland American Legion Post. Surviving is his wife Shirley; son Robert Ron Harris, Jr.; daughter Kimberly Kiefer; grandchildren Kolleen Kiefer, Kati (Lucas) Crippen, Tiffany (Jon) Neary, Stefani (Todd) Kerschner and Haeli Long; 5 great grandchildren; numerous brothers and sisters; and his beloved pets Missy and Dutchess. Friends may visit the family at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Sunday after 12 Noon where memorial services will follow at 2 PM.
