Robert G. Harr, 68, of Catawba Island, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, November 28, 2011, at his home in Port Clinton, OH. Bob was born May 14, 1943, in Greensburg, PA, the son of Paul Glenn and Edna Yeskey Harr. On August 13, 1968, in State College, PA, he married Elizabeth G. Betsy Moore Harr and she survives. Bob worked as a Healthcare Administrator and was the former President and CEO for the Heather Hill Hospital Health Care Center, for more than 30 years. Bob was awarded the Alumni Recognition Award for Professional Excellence from the Pennsylvania State University College of Health and Science. He also received the Commitment and Leadership Award from the Greater Cleveland Chapter of the Alzheimers Association. Bob will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Bob was first and foremost a family man and a devout Christian. He believed service to others was his greatest calling. Bob was a prodigious, creative, thinker and visionary. He was always looking for ways to improve peoples lives in new and unconventional ways. Bob enjoyed traveling. One of his great joys was exploring new places with his family. Bob had an eye for design and appreciated beautiful architecture, sculpture, art and music. His classically trained tenor voice could be heard in Church and the kitchen. Bob had an infectious sense of humor that drew people to him. His exuberance for life was second only to his true love, his wife of 43 years Betsy and his three adoring children and two beautiful grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years: Elizabeth G. Betsy Harr of Port Clinton, OH; Sons: Ryan W. Becki Harr of Dublin, OH and Randall G. Harr of Chicago, IL; Daughter: Hilary E. Steven King of Chicago, IL; Grandchildren: Abigail Walker Harr; Sisters: Karen Dr. Dave Marshall of St. Kitts, Is, Kathy John Corman of Springmills, PA and Heidi Harr of Jenkintown, PA; many loving nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be 5-8PM, Friday, December 2, 2011, at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Bruce Batchelor-Glader at 11:00AM, Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, OH where there will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions in memory of Bob may be given to Greater Toledo Area Chapter of the American Red Cross .
