Robert Marion Grogan, Sr.

August 28, 1939 — January 30, 2019

Family and friends will miss Robert “Buddy” Grogan who passed away after a brief illness early Wednesday morning at the age of 79 in Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania, Ohio. Robert Grogan attended Woodward High School, class of 1957. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1957 as an B-47E Aircraft Mechanic Jet Bomber over two engines. Robert initially trained in Amarillo AFB, Texas. He was reassigned to the 379th Bombardment Wing, SAC, at Homestead AFB, Florida. His last tour of duty deployed him to Sidi Slimane Air Base, French Morocco, Africa. He was Honorably Discharged as an Airman 2C in 1963. Buddy was a devoted Husband, Father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed time spent with family. He was an avid coin collector. He was preceded in death by his parents Katherine White, mother, and Samuel Grogan, father, Richard Grogan, brother, Arlene Grogan, sister, wife of 48 years, Bonnie Grogan, and daughter of 36 years,Tammy Grogan. Robert was employed by the Bartley Company until 1980 and worked for Johnson Controls until retiring in 2010. He is survived by son, Robert Grogan Jr (Candace), and daughter, Sherri Ursell (Tony). Grandchildren, Thomas Ball (Jessica), Jeremiah Grogan, Drew Grogan (Kristi). Great grandchildren, Carson Ball, Cohen Ball, Lily Ball, Amelia Grogan. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2nd from 1:00-400 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 West Sylvania Avenue, A celebration of memories will be heard from 4:00-5:00pm. In lieu of flowers consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project.
