Robert Ivan Glovier

Robert Ivan Glovier, age 79 of Sylvania, Ohio and recently of Port Clinton, Ohio died on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Flower Hospital. He was born in Aliquippa, PA on September 25, 1934 to Clarence and Anna Sebring Glovier. Bob was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where he earned his degree in Chemical Engineering. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, AMVETS and the Democratic Central Committee. Bob was an avid Pittsburgh Fan, but his real passion was teaching. He spent his retirement as a substitute teacher and enjoyed the spark of understanding he could evoke in a person. Bob was a compassionate man who always said I love you and wasnt afraid to show his affection. He loved spending time with his family, fishing with the boys and working on logic puzzles. Bob leaves behind his loving wife, whom he would sing to at night, Sandra Montero; sons, Robert Wyatt Glovier; Carl Glovier; and Daniel Sandy Glovier; sisters, LaRue Schafer; Paula Paxton and Margaret Peg Ludwico; and brother, Clarence Bud Glovier. Also surviving are grandchildren; Cassandra, Monica and Nicholas. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Byron Glovier, JoAnn Walker, and Richard Glovier. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, Ohio, on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital and National Ovarian Cancer Coalition Northwest Ohio Division.
