Robert H. Fulton

February 17, 1920 — September 7, 2008

Robert H. Fulton, Bob age 88, took his walk with the angels to a new beginning surrounded by family, 7:27 AM, Sunday, September 7th in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. Preceded in death are his loving parents and sisters, Janice Fulton and Betty Bilang. Bob was born to Marie Schlereth and Forest Fulton, January 17, 1920 in Dayton, Ohio. His young life was spent in Lambertville, MI where he attended Lambertville School. Later he moved to Toledo, Ohio. Bob graduated from Libbey High School in Toledo, Ohio in 1939, where he lettered in track. During high school he worked at Bud and Lukes restaurant in Toledo, Ohio. And he was a member of the United States Navy during WWII where he served on the US Nereas. Over the years he worked construction as a welder. He was proud to have worked along side his father for Ole Man Brown at Shaw & Kindall in Toledo. Bob enjoyed meeting new people. He found learning about their customs, beliefs and homelands fascinating. Prior to closing of Churchills on Byrne Road he and his wifes daily routine was visiting with acquaintances for coffee and donuts but what he really looked forward to was spending time with his family and going out to eat every Sunday at Bob Evans on Dussel Road in Maumee. Those left to carry on his memory and to celebrate his life are his loving wife of 58 years Patricia A. McGaharan Fulton and two sons, Robert Fulton, Jr. Bobby of a previous marriage Janice of Texas and John F. Fulton Jack Deborah of Maumee, Ohio, along with grandchildren, Bobby and Sherrie and Alan and Pam Fulton of Texas, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and nephew, William Bill Bilang of Toledo, cousin Dick Mary Jane Loy of Arizona along with many McGaharan nieces and nephews. He will be remembered as a wise man who had great concerns for our country and the morality of our nation, a man with a good sense of humor, love of music but mostly for his compassionate and loving nature, yet being a stern man with deep spiritual beliefs. Family and friends may visit Friday, September 12, 2008 from 4-7 p.m. in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Internment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Our special thanks to all of the doctors, nurses and aids at St. Annes Hospital, St. Vincent Hospital but mostly those who were there for us all with their gentle and loving care at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. www.walkerfuneralhomes.com
