Robert J. Frank, Sr.

Robert J. Frank, Sr. Bob, age 73, passed away suddenly Thursday February 24, 2011 in Fort Myers, FL. The son of Carl and Angeline, he was born December 9, 1937 in Toledo. Bob was a 1956 graduate of DeVilbiss High School. He worked for Libbey Glass as a machine repairman for 38 years retiring in 1996. There are few baseball enthusiasts who were as passionate as Bob was for the game. He coached and umpired little league baseball and football for Washington Local Schools. He was a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers and spent much time in Lakeland during spring training measuring up that years team. Bob could be seen any day taking his typical 3-5 miles walk. He loved spending time with his loving wife, Dana. Together they have literally traveled around the world. The two split their time between Florida and Toledo, and Bob loved their home in Florida. He found a lot of joy being at the beach which he did quite often. Nothing brought him more pleasure than being with his family, especially his grandchildren who he adored immensely. Bobs love was never failing and his loss leaves an emptiness that words can not describe. He is survived by his wife, Dana Moore Frank; children, Robert Joseph, Jr. Brenda Frank, Jennifer Everett Frick, Michele Ron Hammond, Krista Petrey LaFountain Ron, Jeff Jennifer Messmore; grandchildren, Julianne, Joseph, Janelle Frank; Tasha, Hanna, Andrew, Grant Frick; Grace Hammond; Baylee Petrey; Atticus Messmore; brother-in-law Jim Alice Gilley; special friends, Sue Denis Roza and Jim Paul. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judith Hanham-Frank. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 2-9 PM at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave west of Corey Rd where services will be held at 10 AM Thursday interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
