Robert DeShetler Jr., 63, of Holland, OH passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022, in his home. Robert was born on August 5, 1958, in Toledo, OH to Robert Sr. and Willa (Hutchinson) DeShetler. Robert attended Macomer High School and finished his education at Waite High School, Class of ‘76.
Robert was an all-around family man as a loving father, husband, and grandfather - his grandchildren were his world to him. He was proudly Union-strong as both a member of the UAW and a retiree from Jeep. He loved the outdoors, whether it was riding on his Harley or camping in the wilderness. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and occasionally gambling at the local casino or attending a rock or country concert. He was a caring pet owner to his dog as well as a mentor to many as a Big Brother. His presence will be truly missed in the community; as he would say, “Live life like you were dying.”
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Ruthie DeShetler; children, Deanna (Alan) Lotozynski, Rachael (Isidro) Anzaldua, Vincent (Farrah) DeShetler; grandchildren, Alex, Tyler, Jalyssa, Eddie, Juleanna, Brandon, Angelo, Eleanna, and Isidro II; sister, Beverly (Bill) Nesbitt; brother, Michael DeShetler; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronnie Hottmann; nephew, Gregory DeShetler; niece, Jody Pound; and brother-in-law, Joe Pound.
Friends and family will be received Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. at Walker-Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 3500 Navarre Ave, Oregon where funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
