Robert A. Derlatka

Robert A. Derlatka, age 86, passed away Friday Sept. 9, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. The son of Karl and Stella, he was born Oct. 16, 1924 in Toledo. Bob graduated from Libbey High School and attended the University of Toledo. He served his country during WWII in the South Pacific as a U.S. Marine. He married the love of his life Martha Maciejewski on Aug. 21, 1950. He enjoyed golfing and was especially proud that he taught his grandsons how to play golf. He was an avid gardener and could grow just about anything. Bob loved to walk especially at Wildwood and was a real history buff. Most of all, he will be remembered as a remarkable man who was devoted to his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Martha; son, Robert A. Jr. Judy; daughter, Marcia Kreinbrink; grandchildren, Jason, Rachel, Daniel, Erik and Andrew; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Julie Kaminski. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter, Theodore and Henry as well as his parents. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Walker Funeral Home with a scripture service at 7:30 PM. Funeral services will begin with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 AM Thursday followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church.
