Robert J. Debo

Robert Bob J. Debo, age 86 of Swanton, Ohio passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Sandusky, Ohio on January 1, 1932 to Howard Joseph and Laura Bridget (Reinsel) Debo. Bob attended grade school at St. Thomas Aquinas in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and attended John Carroll University. Bob was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He had great carpentry skills and was co-owner of Debo Brothers Builders. Bob was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church in Swanton and supervised the construction of The Adoration Chapel. He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maumee where he taught CCD classes and along with his brother, helped hang the cross above the altar. He was a car enthusiast, loved to memorize and recite poetry, and was an avid reader. He enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Celtics, the Chicago Bears, and Notre Dame football. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Judith; children, John (Melissa) Debo, Mary (Jim) Scott and Michael (Amy) Debo; grandchildren, Tristan, Zach, Molly, Ellie, Caroline, Tessa, Isabel, Claire and Stella; siblings, Mary (Bob) Cox, Liz (Dave) Alley, and his brother and best friend, Vincent (Judy) Debo. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Howard. Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio with the Rosary to be recited at 7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Richard Catholic Church, 333 Brookside Drive, Swanton, Ohio. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Maumee, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be directed to Habitat for Humanity, Little Sisters of the Poor or St. Richard Catholic Church.
