Robert J. Crawford, Jr. April 22, 1936 – March 31, 2018 Robert J. Crawford, Jr. (Bob) passed away from Alzheimer’s at The Goerlich Center surrounded by the people who loved and cared for him. Bob was born to Robert J. & Ruth (Zeiss) Crawford on April 22, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio. He married his wife, Karen Hooper Trzcinski on May 6, 1978 after 3 months of dating. What a life they experienced together. The disease robbed him of many things but not his love for his wife Karen. Many times he would ask Karen if she was married because if she wasn’t he wanted to marry her. She would respond yes “I’m married to you”. He would flash those blue eyes and smile saying “Oh good”! He loved hugs, kisses, making his duck sounds, dancing with his caregivers, making people laugh, showing his 1954 bus card and telling people he boxed in the Golden Gloves. Thank you Tom Falvey for always telling Bob you thought he was the winner of your match. He was a proud graduate of DeVilbiss High School (1954) and was a member of the reunion committee for many years. He retired from Dana Spicer after 30 years of service. Bob was a 60 years plus American Red Cross blood donor. He volunteered for Mobile Meals. Bob graduated from Monroe Community College with a degree in Culinary Skills. He was an excellent cook and made the best Caesar salad in the world. Many of his recipes were passed on to his grandson, Chef Leff (Austin). He would make 1300 spice for anyone who asked and tell people it was so good he even put it on ice cream. Everyone close to him knew how much he loved his family, cooking, dancing, parties, walking at Wildwood Park, traveling especially Hilton Head & Maui, sunrises, sunsets, Ohio State Buckeyes, Detroit Tigers and golf courses. Father to Don, Doug, Dave, Darcy, Dianne, Dan and Stacey. Grandfather to Bill, Abby, Erin, Brett, Ellen, Adam, Jim, Jack, Stephanie, Amy, Zach, Austin, Ethan, Evan, Miranda and Jazzy. Great grandfather to Kinzley Leffler. He lit up when she was in the room. Brother to Richard Crawford, Judy (Don) Mack, Ron (Cheryl) Crawford and Pat Cooper. Words cannot express the gratitude for the loving care that Al Leffler gave tirelessly to Bob every day. Predeceased by his parents, brother Richard, daughter Stacey Leffler and grandson Zach Leffler. Services and burial were private. Thank you Fr. Bill Rose.
