Robert Alan Bowen, Jr., of Maumee, Ohio, passed away Nov. 7 at Toledo Hospital after an illness. He was 62. He was born Feb. 13, 1956, to Robert A. Bowen, Sr., and Olive “Jerry” Bowen (nee Hollister), both of Maumee. Robert attended Maumee High School and the University of Toledo, studying political science. For most of his working life he owned Bowen Parking, a business started by his parents, in Toledo. Most recently, he drove school busses for Sylvania City Schools. He spent many years racing BMW 2002s at Waterford Hills and Mid-Ohio race tracks, and was a soccer referee in leagues throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. He is survived by his sons, Charles Bowen (Rebecca) and Alan Bowen (Kaileigh), his sister Barbara Stockard (Marshall), his niece Olivia Stockard and his ex-wife, Joan Bennett Schultz. He had four grand-children: Miranda, Gwendolyn, Elliot, and Emerson. Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 10 at Maison Dardenne Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SCCA Foundation.
