Robert (Bob) Vernon Strayer, 75, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on November 25th after a long illness. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 22, 1946 to Vernon and Erma Strayer. He graduated from Maumee High School in 1964 and went on to graduate from the Ohio State University in 1968 with a B.S. in Agriculture. Shortly after graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Janet (Wheeler) Strayer. He worked as the Quality Control Director at Frostbite before retiring. Bob was quite the handyman and mechanic. He was the first person his family would call if they needed help fixing something around the house or if their car was not working properly. He almost always knew how to fix it. Bob was always supportive of his children and grandchildren and spent many years driving to soccer tournaments, football games, and horse shows. He never complained about it and took great joy in his children's and grandchildrens' accomplishments. Bob instilled the love of Ohio State Buckeye football in his children and there was often a lively conversation during games between him and his kids. Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet Strayer; his daughter Joanne (Jason) Nicolosi, and his sons Chris (Andrea) Strayer, John (Brytanne) Strayer, and Mike Strayer. He is survived by seven grandchildren: Trent, Tyler, Ashley, Will, Nathan, Levi, and Finley. Bob is also survived by his brother John (Bonnie) Strayer and sister Janet (Jack) Denton along with a niece and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Daniel Strayer.
