Robert J Bayer, Jr.

Robert Bayer, Jr., age 79, of Toledo passed away in his home on June 2, 2014. Robert was born in Toledo on April 26, 1935 to Robert J. & Herma V. (Dorcas) Bayer, Sr. Bobby worked in the Sanitation Department for the village of Ottawa Hills for over 30 years. He was a fixture around the Reynolds Corners area, affectionately known as “The Mayor of Reynolds Corners.” He was often seen riding his bike wearing his distinctive orange cap as well as working in the family hardware store. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and love him. Surviving are his sister, Ann (Alan) Bluth; brothers, David (Barbara) Bayer; Michael (Melissa) Bayer; Philip (Jennifer) Bayer and many nieces and nephews, including Kevin Bayer, with whom he lived in his later years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herma & Robert, Sr. Friends and family will be received in the Neville Funeral Home, Reynolds Corners Chapel, 5052 Dorr St., Toledo (419-535-0951) from 2 to 7 pm Sunday, June 8, 2014. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr S., Toledo, Monday June 9, 2014 where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Joy Cemetery, Ottawa Hills. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Humane Society/
