Robert Lee Arndt

Robert “Butch” Lee Arndt, 81, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023 at St. Clare Commons. He was born in Fremont, Ohio on July 29, 1942 to Frank and Rozella (Detman) Arndt. Butch married his sweetheart, Rosalie S. Whetsel on November 25, 1962. This anniversary would have been 62 wonderful years together.

Butch was a supervisor at Holcim in Dundee, Michigan. Over the years he worked for a variety of blasting companies and quarries, including Gibsonburg Lime for Pfizer. He lived in Arizona and Florida where he enjoyed being a tour guide. Butch also was his wife’s delivery boy for her flower shop. Butch loved fishing with the boys and was an avid golfer. He was a girls softball coach and a greeter at church. His faith was strong, and God was his refuge especially as his dementia progressed. He knew Jesus was his savior and was at peace knowing he would spend eternity with them. Butch was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His grandchildren were the greatest joy in his life.

Butch is survived by his wife, Rosalie S. Arndt; children, Shawn (Mary) Arndt, Kelli Jo Arndt (Eric) Massengill, and Chad Robert (Susan) Arndt; grandchildren, Shawna (Cyle) Hetrick, Melissa Arndt, Matthew (Kaylyn) Marquette, Madelyn Marquette and Mark, Patrick Marquette and Alice, Paige Breanne (Tristan) Arndt, Taylor (Cedes) Miller, Kaitlin (Justin Boudrot) Miller, and Rhys ; great grandchildren, Mya, Cooper, Harper, Archer and Vivian Miller; brothers, Marvin (Sandy) Arndt and Larry (Peggy) Arndt; and special furry friends, Stella, Maple, Milo, Kelsey, and Kiki. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 10 siblings.

Friends will be received at Sujkowski Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Rd, Rossford, Ohio 43460 on Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM with a funeral service starting at 7:00 PM. Memorial donations in Butch’s name may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
