Robert Hayden Robb Ansted

Robert Hayden “Robb” Ansted, 36, passed away on November 23, 2016 in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Toledo on August 25, 1980 to Peter H. and Sheri L. (Schall) Ansted. After graduating in 1999 from Perrysburg High School, he received an Arts and Science bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bowling Green State University. He served in the 180th Fighter Wing of the Air National Guard, and was deployed to Qatar in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Robb first worked for Craig Transportation in Perrysburg as a safety and compliance officer and then for Ashland Oil in Lexington, KY as an information technician. He was a former travel boy’s soccer coach with the Perrysburg Soccer Club. Robb was incredibly kind, had a big heart, possessed a wonderful sense of humor, and always cared deeply for others. Family was of utmost importance to Robb. He was a loving big brother, to Mallory L. Newman of Bay Village, OH and Timothy B. Ansted of Lexington, KY, a welcoming brother-in-law to J. Michael Newman and Kelly Ansted, and a truly special son to Peter and Sheri Ansted. Robb was also a wonderful Uncle. The immense love he felt for his niece Kennedy Newman was obvious, and the mutual joy they experienced when spending time together was undeniable. He is also survived by his grandmother, Lorraine Schall of Oakwood, OH and his aunt, Randi Guyer of Melbourne, FL. Robb is dearly missed. Friends and family will be received on, Friday, December 2, 2016, from 11:00 A.M to 2:00 P.M at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH 43551 (419-874-3133). At 2:00 P.M. we will then process to Fort Meigs Cemetery in Perrysburg for a graveside service with Pastor Timothy P. Philabaum officiating, followed by a gathering at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 E. Indiana Ave. in Perrysburg. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Robb's life. Robb had a lifelong passion for soccer; he played for Perrysburg High School as a student, and coached youth soccer later in life.
