Robert Alan Wittman

July 13, 1957 — October 24, 2025

Oak Harbor

Robert Alan Wittman, 68, of Oak Harbor, Ohio passed away on October 24, 2025, due to complications from a surgery. Rob was born in Oregon, Ohio on July 13, 1957, the middle child of Earl and Patricia (Brown) Wittman.

Rob attended Oak Harbor High School and graduated in 1975. He was very proud to be a member of the Rocket Football Team for all 4 years of high school, from 1971–1975. After graduation, he began working for the Ford Motor Company in Toledo, Ohio, retiring after 30 years.

He married Mary Cassidy on November 28, 1992, and she survives. Rob and Mary enjoyed attending concerts together, especially Brooks and Dunn and Bob Segar. They also loved hosting family parties during Apple Festival and the Independence Day Celebration, as well as relaxing by the pool. Rob was an avid Nascar race fan, and he could be found in his favorite Lazy Boy watching the latest competition. Although, on race day the family knew he wasn’t available. He also loved spending time with his dogs, Buckeye and Sadie, who sadly have passed away.

Rob had a way of creating a sense of peace and gentleness around you. His soft voice could calm a tense situation. His mellow nature and kind presence never went unnoticed.

Rob is survived by his wife, Mary Wittman; son, Ryan Wittman; parents, Earl and Patricia Wittman; brothers, Jerry (Marie) Wittman and Ron Wittman; siblings-in-law, Mike (Joyce) Cassidy, Kathy Kwiatkowski, Sharon Thompson, Patricia Elfering, Tim (Shelly) Cassidy, Colleen (Steve) Cook, and John (Barb) Cassidy; and many loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Richard “Dick” Elfering, Charlie Thompson, and Frank Kwiatkowski; niece, Dawn Haack; nephew, Jon Kwiatkowski; great-nephew, Patrick Kwiatkowski; mother-in-law, Agatha Rose; and father-in-law, John P. Cassidy.

A celebration of Rob’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in Rob's honor may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or an organization of the donor's choice.
