Rivers Clyde Conley, Jr. age 89 of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in the home of his daughter, Dorothy. He was born December 19, 1924 in Holly Springs, MS to Rivers (Annie) Conley, Sr. Rivers was a veteran of both the Navy and the Army serving in World War II and Korea. He began his career as a mechanic in the family business, Conleys Garage. Rivers then went on to be a salesman for NAPA and retired as Regional Sales Manager for Dana Corporation in 1988. He enjoyed golf, a good martini, working in the yard and he especially enjoyed traveling. Rivers was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church and a 32nd. degree Mason. Rivers was preceded in death by his wife Grace; brother, Charlie; and his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Dorothy (William) Samonides and Deborah (Alan) Bruce; and grandchildren, Christopher (Holly), Nathan, Andrew, Stephanie, Becky and Haley. There will be no visitation and services will be private. The family would especially like to thank Deb Lester who was a longtime caregiver to Rivers and Grace and to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
