Rita (Ray) Weiher was born on April 10, 1927, to Madeiline Cangemilo and Frank Ray in Toledo, Ohio. She was the youngest of 5 children. Rita Ray married Donald P. Weiher on June 13, 1953, at St. Patrick's Historic Church in Toledo, Ohio. They met while working at Jeep Overland and were married 56 years until Donald's passing in 2009. Rita passed away on November 2, 2025, after declining health due to Alzheimer's.
Rita enjoyed cooking, shopping, cleaning, and babysitting her grandchildren. She was a stay-at-home mom for years and later worked in a small factory assembling knobs and buttons, then was the office manager for a water softening company she owned with her husband Donald. Rita often played cards with her grandchildren and had them for overnights. She travelled annually to visit family in Colorado. Her favorite saying to her grandchildren was, 'I love you more than you love me' and was known for having Kit Kats in her pantry.
Rita accompanied her husband Donald on numerous golf outings and vacations, sharing good times with friends. She loved to shop and always found items on sale. After her children were grown, Rita crocheted afghans and coasters, but most of all, she liked to feed her family and cooked many feasts, inviting family over to partake.
Rita was predeceased by her four siblings. Rita is survived by her three children, Don Weiher (Mary), Kathy Keil, and Lori Kerr (Jack); six grandchildren, Anthony (Andrea) Brock, Kendall (Sheree) Keil, Matthew Brock, Don (Jessica) Weiher, Jr., Michael Weiher, and Krista (Louis) Brown; ten great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
