Rita M. Tucker, age 93, a native and lifelong resident of Toledo passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Orchard Villa in Oregon. She was born October 16, 1929, to the late Edward and Alice (Henzler) Cline.
Rita was employed for several years as a secretary at Jeep Willys and later worked for Toledo Public Schools for more than ten years in various capacities. In her free time, she enjoyed playing darts, traveling, watching Ohio State football and cooking for others. Rita cooked at the former Eagles Club on Jackman Road but was best known for the amazing meals she made for her family. She was thoughtful, kind and loved to surprise family members with their favorite meal. She enjoyed supporting her family by offering them a full stomach and her terrific sense of humor.
Left to cherish Rita’s memory are her three daughters, Suzan Packo, Christine (Charles) Korotnayi, Laura Tucker (Brian Baxendell); 9 Grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and brother, Jack (Peggy) Cline.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Walter Reed Tucker, and siblings, Ed Cline, Helen Day, Mary Lett, and Verna Lewis.
Rita will be laid to rest next to her husband at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park following a private ceremony.
