Rita Marie Rasey

Rita Rasey , age 85, formerly of Maumee passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Lutheran Village of Wolf Creek. She was born in Toledo on November 10, 1922, the youngest child of Henry and Gertrude JoHann Thielen. Rita attended Notre Dame Academy and was employed at the former LaSalles and Lamsons Department stores. Rita also volunteered for the American Cancer Society and worked the election polls for over 20 years. She married James Rasey in 1946 and he preceded her in death. Rita was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Maumee. As a young mother she enjoyed swimming at the Catholic Club, she was an avid gardener and enjoyed weekend and holidays at the Lake. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be missed by all who knew her. Rita leaves to cherish her memory Kathleen McQuade and fianc Joe Rawlins, Michael Rasey, Christine Tim Kidder, Ron Marlaine Rasey; grandchildren, Tonya Jason Reynolds, Kelly Steven Lietaert, Colby Sterman, Sadie Sterman & fianc, Anthony Coleman, Michelle Santibanez, Danielle Jacob Rasey and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Rita was preceded in death by her brothers, James and Francis and sisters, Helen and Sr. Mary Kathleen, OSF. Family and friends may visit Wednesday, from 3-9 PM in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, where a scripture service will be held at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will begin Thursday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, Maumee. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Maumee.
