Rita F. Barnett, 64, of Port Clinton, OH passed away unexpectedly, Friday, July 26, 2024 at her home. She was born on January 27, 1960 in Toledo, OH. Rita was a homemaker and a mother of many talents. She enjoyed going to her (happy place) in Gypsum to feed the deer (her friends), cooking for her family, and was famous for her bacon gravy and biscuits. She recently discovered that she was a pretty good painter! Specializing in outdoor yard ornaments! Rita loves her Pepsi and goes nowhere without it! So if there was no Pepsi in heaven, there is now! Rita was a Mom, Nana, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. Nothing meant more to her than her boys and her grandkids and she will be truly missed every single day.
Rita is survived by her sons, Elijah Gilmore and Adam Barnett, siblings, Tony Barnett, Roger Barnett, Monica Barnett, and Linda Bunker, grandchildren, Jordan Barnett, Jaxon Barnett, Joseph Dawson, Rhyatt Gilmore, Taylan Gilmore, Skylyn Gilmore, and Brylon Moore, cousin, Mike Ferguson, best friend, Alicia Roush, and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Barnett, sister, Beverly, brother, Benny, and granddaughter, Alexa Gilmore.
A Celebration of Life Gathering for Rita will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at East Harbor State Park, 1169 N. Buck Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio.
