Ricky Lee Goetz, 63, of Rocky Ridge, OH, passed away on January 2, 2022 surrounded by family at Fremont Memorial Hospital, Fremont, Ohio. He was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on August 19, 1958, the son of Norbert Goetz and Betty (Brackett) Metcalfe. Ricky was a graduate of Oak Harbor High School, class of 1976. He worked various construction jobs during his life, even creating his own roofing company, R. L. Roofing, from 1986-1992. He married his loving wife, Sharon (Helminski) Goetz, in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 21, 1990. He retired from construction when he was diagnosed with MS, but never stopped working with his hands as shown by his various impressive woodworking projects. Ricky could make anything, especially when it came to his family, having built an entire table and chair set, a sturdy 6ft shelving unit, and decorative wheelbarrow. He was a huge Cleveland Indians fan, loved a good card game, especially Euchre, and bird watching with his bird feeders at home. Ricky is survived by his wife, Sharon Goetz; children, Jennifer (Tim) Polter, Staci Mariscal, Jason Goetz, Jeff (Jen) Marshall; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons; brother, Steven Goetz; and stepmother, Brenda Goetz. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. Visitation will be Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 9a.m. – 11a.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, OH followed by a memorial service at 11a.m. conducted by Pastor Holli Burkard. Burial will take place in Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, Ohio.
