Richard Rick L. Waldron, 71, of Genoa, died Wednesday morning, June 20, 2018, at Mercy-St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. Rick was born October 16, 1946, in Toledo to Richard M. and Donna H. (Johnson) Waldron. He married the love of his life, Deanna F. Burow, in Toledo on January 1, 1994 and she survives. Rick was a member of Calvary Bible Chapel East and the Genoa Masonic Lodge #433 F. & A.M. He was an ordained pastor with AFMC and shared a marriage ministry with his wife of which they performed numerous wedding ceremonies. He used Facebook as a way to reach out to his many friends, and he enjoyed every interaction. Rick worked in communications at several local Christian radio stations for many years, as well as sports announcing for local high school sporting events. He was an avid Ohio State fan. Surviving Rick are his wife, Deanna, children, Kimberly (John) Tobias, Heath Waldron and Corey Waldron, all of Genoa; step children, Ron Welch of Elmore, Rob (Vicki) Welch of Birmingham, AL, Dan Welch of Toledo and Kris (P.G.) Gerber of Fremont; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brother, Craig (Jill) Waldron of Lakeside. His parents, uncle, Don Johnson, and favorite canine, Louie, preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Church, Williston. For those attending, there will be a time of fellowship immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials for Rick to go to Calvary Bible Chapel East, 223 W. Florence Ave., Toledo, OH 43605; the Genoa Christian Church, 415 Main St., P.O. Box 116, Genoa, OH 43430; or St. John Lutheran Church 21140 W. Toledo St., P.O. Box 235, Williston, OH 43468. Arrangements have been handled by the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Genoa.
