SHANK Richard G. Dick Dick G. Shank, age 70, of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born on February 20, 1941, in Toledo, OH to George and Edna Shank. Dick graduated from Macomber Vocational High School, class of 1959. After being employed by Meilink Steel Safe Company for 25 years, he pursued a career in real estate and eventually opened Out of Wood, a woodworking business where he made a variety of handcrafted items. Dicks passions in life were walking his dogs at Fort Meigs with his many friends throughout the years, woodworking in his shop and his family. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gloria; oldest son, Gregory and his wife, Joyce; along with his youngest son, Timothy and his wife, Julie; grandchildren, Lauren, Zachary, Mackenzie, and Meredith; great-granddaughter, Ryleigh, and a sister, Janet Shank. Also surviving are his much loved and devoted friends for over 40 years, John and Barb Heslop; lifetime friends, Dan and Judy Edwards, and K-9 companions, Cookie and Dreamy. The Shank family wants to thank the generous people at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their dedication and care. We also have much adoration for Dr. Richard Paat. Family and friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant, Maumee on Monday, January 23, 2012, from 3-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Maumee.
