Richard O. Shane

Richard O. Shane, 82, of Maumee, OH passed away after a brief illness on July 12, 2017. He was born on October 15, 1934 to William and Katherine (Slaughterbeck) Shane in Toledo, OH. He was a member of the Cement Mason Local 886 Union for 60 years and held various different office positions over the years. Richard was a 1953 graduate of Burnham High School in Sylvania, Ohio, and was active in planning the class reunions. He will be remembered for his story telling, sense of humor, love of Jazz music and reading war magazines. Richard is survived by his wife, LaDonna; Sons, Dana Shane, Richard (Denise) Stickley, and Gary Stickley; Daughter, Cindy Klepacz; Daughter-In-Law, Susan Stickley; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Steven Stickley; his parents; brother, Edward Shane; and grandson, Ryan Stickley. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 2-8pm at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St. Maumee, OH.
