Richard E. Rounds, Sr.

Richard E. Rounds, Sr., 80, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, August 25, 2023. He was born on April 4, 1943 in Port Clinton, the son of the late Walter and Mary (Drusbacky) Rounds. On September 18, 1965 he married the love of his life, Linda Gluth, at St. John Lutheran Church in Port Clinton, and she preceded him in death on July 10, 2015.

Richard worked as a mechanic at US Gypsum until his retirement in 2007. He enjoyed gardening, taking trips to Amish Country, Classic Cars, working on automobiles, and most importantly he loved spending time with his family, especially with his wife Linda, as she was his world.

Survivors include his sons, Richard E. (Kathy) Rounds, Jr. and Robert Rounds; daughter, Cynthia (Matthew) Schroeder; grandchildren, Nicholas (Madison), Addison, Sarah, and Aryn; sister, Marcia Wieber; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lowell, Doris, Irene, and Ann.

The Family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to his niece, Kathy (Wieber) Thomas, for her steadfast devotion to Richard during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 4-7 pm. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home at 11 am on Friday, September 1, 2023.
