Richard Charles Robbins

Richard Charles Robbins died at his home in South Toledo on August 9th, 2012. Born March 24, 1927 in Shaker Heights, Ohio, he was raised in Toledo, Findlay and Fremont. Dick graduated from Fremont Ross High School and attended Bowling Green State University. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany in WWII. Dick worked as a tool and die maker, and several of his innovations in the blow molding industry resulted in U.S. Patents. An avid outdoorsman throughout his life, he was able to go duck hunting in Wellers Bay in Ontario, Canada in Fall 2011 and fished there in July of this year. He is survived by his daughter Cynthia and son-in-law Steven Martin in Newark, Delaware; son Stephen in Amherst, Ohio; and daughter, Vanessa and son-in-law Doug Boyce in Maumee, Ohio. He is also survived by grandchildren Stephanie Crevison, Greggory Sherman, Jodi Boyce, Kelly Boyce, Cori Boyce, and Katherine Martin; his great-grandson, Aidan; and his dear friends in Carrying Place, Ontario, Tim and Michelle Colasante. The family is grateful for the care he received from his Visiting Angels, Donna, Melanie and Pattie and hospice nurse Callie. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Flora, his brother Ward, his first wife Ruth Rohr, children Susan, Anthony, and Richard, and his second wife, Mary Frias. At his request, Dick will be cremated and a memorial service will occur at a later date. Memorial contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio are welcome.
