Richard E. Owens, Sr. “Cookie”, 75, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013 in Bowling Green, Ohio. He was born in Bowling Green on March 24, 1938 to Charles W. and Lottie Marie (Warren) Owens. He was married in Toledo on March 23, 1960 to Patricia L. Orwig and she precedes him in death. Richard was employed for many years as a truck driver for Bowers Asphalt and Paving in Walbridge, Ohio before retiring. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa M. (Elias) Reyes of Bowling Green, OH; son, Richard E. (Gloria) Owens, Jr. of Perrysburg, OH.; grandchildren, Samuel, Antonio, and Anastasia “Stacy” Castro, Damien Owens, Angel Ybarra, Noel Ybarra; great-grandchildren, Antonio “Nikko” Jr., Nadia Costilla, Samuel “Sammy” Costilla Jr., and Adriana Caballero, Thalia, Tressa and Romeo Castro, Angelo and Noah Rowe; sisters, Louise Saylor and Shirley Sheets. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. and Lottie Marie Owens, wife, Patricia L. Owens, two brothers, John W. Owens and Charles R. Owens and great granddaughter, Patricia Raquel Ramirez-Costilla. Friends will be received from 5-9 P.M. on Tuesday, Dec. 3 and 5-9 P.M. on Wednesday, Dec 4, in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E.S. Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, Dec. 5 with burial in New Belleville Ridge Cemetery.
