Richard S. Nottingham, age 89, of Toledo, died April 15, 2017, at St. Annes Hospital. He was born June 20, 1927 in Syracuse, NY to the late Edwin and Eleanor (Schmelzle) Nottingham. Dick was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a well-respected industrial sales representative with Borg Warner, a plastics manufacturer, for over 30 years. He retired in 1989 from General Electric where he was an account executive for the final 5 years of his career. Dick was an avid fan and supporter of the University of Michigan and the Marching Band. He also enjoyed photography, traveling and sharing stories about his travels. Dicks passion was music and the theatre. He was a longtime supporter of The Toledo Symphony, the Stratford Festival (which he attended for 52 consecutive years), The Shaw Festival at Niagra on the Lake, the Croswell Theatre in Adrian, and the Ohio Light Opera. Dick was an audiophile whose home music system was always on the cutting edge of high-fidelity sound reproduction. Surviving are his longtime companion, Patricia Harrell; sister, Elle Walton; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Mary Louise Nottingham, in 1993. At Dicks request, there will be no service and burial will be private. Memorials are suggested to The Toledo Symphony or the Salvation Army.
